Reliance Industries to invest Rs 2500 crore in Assam, 80 thousand people will get jobs.
Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, has announced to invest Rs 2,500 crore in various projects in Assam. These investments will be made in areas such as retail, petroleum, telecommunications, tourism and sports and this will provide employment to 80 thousand people in the next three years. He said that Reliance Industries has become the largest private investor in the state by investing five thousand crore in the last five years.
The company’s telecommunications unit, Reliance Jio, has more than 30 lakh consumers in the state and its goal is to increase their scope in the coming months.

Ambani said that this summit is happening at a time when the country is moving forward under the leadership of the popular Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also complimented the Prime Minister for presenting the budget of 2018-19 to present the best budget of the past years, which has taken care of all sections of society including farmers.

Reliance will make an additional investment of Rs 2,500 crore to increase its presence in this market. Under this program, the number of retail outlets will increase from existing two to 40 Petrol Depots will also be increased from existing 27 to 165.
Ambani said, we are going to start new offices in all 145 Tehsil headquarters of Assam. Our endeavor is to always create sustainable livelihood opportunities in Assam and provide 20 thousand jobs of employment. Assam has always been a low priority market for other telecom companies, while it is an A-class market for Reliance.
Ambani said that the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) unit Reliance Foundation will set up centers to promote environmentally friendly tourism and wildlife conservation in any university with Assam Government in the field of tourism. He said, ISL has been very successful in Assam in the field of football. We have decided to form a high-quality football academy in collaboration with Assam Government to prepare global level players in the state.
