Legislative elections have been held in Nagaland, the state of northeast India and today the counting of votes is going on. Trends in the BJP and NPF alliance continues. The worst condition is the Congress. In the trends, the BJP alliance is going ahead in 29 assembly seats and the NPF coalition is keeping the lead in 26 seats. The Congress is leading in only one seat and the other candidate is ahead in 3 seats.
Voting for 59 seats in this state of 60 assembly seats was cast on February 27. The state is currently the Nagaland People’s Front (NPF) government. The BJP was earlier with the NPF but before the elections, the BJP ended the alliance with the NPF and took over the NDPP’s hand. In 40 out of 60 seats, NDPP is contesting on BJP in 20 seats. The special thing is that even after the alliance broke down, the NPF appears to be ready to rejoin the BJP again.
On the other hand, once Congress, in Nagaland, is contesting on 18 seats. It is also being tried by the Congress behind the curtain that join hands with the NPF. The experts believe that if the NPF’s win is inevitable, then Congress can join the NPF by combine it.
No election was conducted here due to the death of a candidate in one seat. Election for this seat will be done later. A total of 31 seats will be required to form the government.
