BS Yeddyurappa resigned from the post of CM in the Assembly before proving the majority today. Yeddyurappa can remain CM only for 55 hours. Under the Supreme Court order, Yeddyurappa had to prove the majority in the assembly today. Yeddyurappa gave a speech for about 15 minutes in the house and announced the resignation. The Governor vajubhai wala gave Yeddyurappa 15 days to prove the majority, after which the Congress had turned to the Supreme.
Yeddyurappa has not been able to mobilize 7 legislators for the majority in the assembly and resigns before the floor test. Yeddyurappa can remain CM only for 55 hours. In this way now Karnataka will now be the Congress-JDS government. And Kumaraswamy will be the chief minister The Congress has 78 MLAs while JDS has 37 MLAs.
In his speech, Yeddyurappa said that the elections can come at any time. I will go to every part of the state and come back to win the hearts. If the elections are held then the BJP will get 150 seats. After the speech, Yeddyurappa went out to hand over the resignation to the governor.
