A special court is set to pronounce its final verdict on December 21 in the 2G spectrum allocation scam, a case in which former telecom minister A Raja, DMK Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi and others face prosecution..
Telecommunications minister ex A Raja The Raja is in court today for a verdict on whether he had planned India’s largest telecommunications scam. From his hometown of Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, hundreds of supporters of his party were crowded out of the Delhi court where the decision would be announced at times. The largest telecom scam in independent India, was exposed in 2010 when the national auditor had said that in 2007-2008, telecommunications operators received second generation or 2g licenses without free and fair bidding procedures.
A regional party Raja of Tamil Nadu DMK has refused to issue a license for out-of-against market prices. He said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was exposed to each decision and these are based on information from the Telecommunications Secretariat, other cabinet ministers and the then Attorney General.
